Schematic Design Update – The design working group continued to identify cost reductions to the project through value engineering exercises. The building was evaluated as a two-level scheme to determine if the operations of the department could function uninterrupted. Cost estimates were generated to compare the two-level scheme and the three-level. The Building Committee determined through this exercise that the best value for the department and for the City was to proceed with the three-level design. The Building Committee voted to move forward into Design Development.
